Lpn To Rn Bridge Programs In New Jersey

Licensed practical nurses (LPNs) who want to become registered nurses (RNs) need to enroll in an LPN-to-RN degree program, then pass the National Council Licensure Examination for RNs (NCLEX-RN) to gain their nursing licenses. In the state of New Jersey, these programs are usually offered in community colleges.

Atlantic Cape Community College

A public community college with three campuses in two counties, Atlantic Cape Community College offers a two-year Associate of Applied Science in Nursing degree program that requires 66 credits for graduation. LPNs need to complete the Human Anatomy Physiology II and LPN Nursing Transition courses with a grade of C or better in the first semester in order to skip the Nursing I course while getting the eight credits associated with it.

Mercer County Community College

A minimum of 66 credits are required for completion of the associate degree in nursing program at Mercer County Community College. LPN students can bypass the Fundamental Concepts of Nursing course and still get the six credits, and they can take advantage of MCCC's partnership with four-year institutions in the area by completing a four-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing program instead.
