Honeywell thermostat wiring problems

Honeywell thermostat wiring problems

Hi all, I am new to the forum and hope you don't jump on me for my paucity of information, but, really, I know next to nothing about HVAC. I own a mobile home that my sister used to own. She was going to lose it, so I took over payments and it is now a rental. My last tenant moved without notice. When I went in, I noticed that the thermostat was missing. I bought a Honeywell RTHL 2310 thermostat and wired it acoording to the directions. I get nothing, no heat, no air, no fan. I have 5 wires, Blue, Green, Yellow, White and Red. The fan blower works and the heater was working a few days ago. The only name I can find on the heater is Mortex, but that is on the fan. The A/C is a 3 1/2 ton Air Ease that was replaced last summer. I have 3 wires from the A/C unit, but the ground (green) isn't connected. One is yellow and the other white. The blue wire from the thermostat connects to the yellow wire from the A/C and the yellow wire fron the heater. If anyone can offer any suggestions, it will be very helpful. If you need info on the heater, tell me identify it and I will get the info back to you ASAP. Thanks much! Have you taken the top cover off? There is a box in the middle where all the wires join. I think you may have to remove the cover to see the R W G... ect.. Also on the box cover, I think it will have a stikcer with the model # on it. Here is a sales info to see if that is the unit. I have learned that the furnace is an Intertherm. I have no idea find the model number, but I'm still looking. I can see where all the wires are connected to the thermostat wires, but I don't know what hooks to what. For example, there are 4 wires coming from the blower: red, green, white and yellow. If I knew what each wire was for, I could figure it out, maybe. As I said, my HVAC knowledge is extremely limited. P.S. It is electric heat and air. Update: The furnace model is E1EH-012HA The thing that confuses me is that I have 2 thermostat wires going to the A/C. 1 is blue, the other is yellow. When I hook blue to b, i get nothing. When I tape it and do not attach it to anything, I get nothing. I need help badly!!!! I pulled up the wire diagram. These are the colors for low voltage control from the contrl box. Red wire to R White to W Green to G Yellow from outdoor unit. Y from t-stat going to outdoor unit. What do I do with the blue wire? And, what, if anything, does it control? I have 3 wires from the A/C. 1 attaches to blue, 1 attaches to yellow and one is taped off. One of the wire will go to the Y from the t-stat. the other wire will go to Yellow from the control box on the air handler. Here is a wire diagram if this will help you. The drawing is found on page 7. Perhaps, I'm not making myself clear. Let me try to explain again. There are 5 wires going to the thermostat: Red, White, Green, Yellow and Blue. There are 4 wires coming out of the blower: Red, White, Green and Yellow. When I trace these wires back to the blower, the red attaches to red; the green attaches to green, and the white attaches to white. This where it gets tricky. There are 3 wires from the A/C. One wire attaches to the yellow from the blower. That wire goes to the thermostat and it is BLUE. The yellow wire from the A/C attaches to a yellow wire that goes to the thermostat. It DOES NOT attach to the blower, straight from the A/C to the thermostat. The final wire is not attached to anything, it is taped. I know about the green, red and white wires. Should I attach the BLUE wire to Y on the thermostat? If so, what do I do with the yellow wire to the thermostat? You will only use two of the three wires from the A/C. One of the wires will go to the yellow wire from the blower. The other wire from the A/C will then join blue then Y on the t-stat.
