East Carolina University
The School of Art and Design at East Carolina University in Greenville offers a bachelor of fine arts degree with a concentration in fashion design. Students take a 120-credit-hour curriculum with a variety of basic courses including design, figure drawing and art history. Greenville offers students a small-town feel with a moderate cost of living, student housing and numerous student organizations.

North Carolina State University
North Carolina State University, located in scenic Raleigh, offers a number of design degrees but has a special five-year double-degree program in design and textiles called the Annie Albers Scholars program. This unique program allows students to take courses in hand weaving, dyeing, drawing, printmaking, color and light, and digital imaging. Courses are offered on the operational side of fashion as well, including business management and chemistry for textile applications.
