Get Adhesive Off Fiberglass Walls

Clean fiberglass surfaces with non-abrasive substances.

Shower stickers or adhesive from a razor holder or shower mirror can leave a sticky residue on your fiberglass walls. This residue can be tough to remove because you cannot simply scrape it off with a knife or razor blade. Fiberglass has a smooth surface that is susceptible to nicks and scratches. Prevent these pits and scratches by using solvents and only very mild abrasives to remove adhesive from fiberglass walls.

Instructions

1. Peel off as much of the adhesive as possible with a pair of tweezers or with your fingers. Work from the corners of the adhesive toward the center.

2. Apply liquid dish soap directly to the adhesive with a soft-bristled toothbrush. Let the liquid dish soap sit on the adhesive residue for at least five minutes.

3. Scrub the liquid dish soap into the adhesive residue with the soft-bristled brush. Work until the residue is gone or until as much of it as possible is gone.

4. Mix 1 tbsp. baking soda with 1 tbsp. water to make a thick paste. Baking soda paste is a mild abrasive that will remove any remaining residue without damaging the fiberglass.

5. Rub the paste into the area with a clean cloth. Rub until all of the residue is gone.

6. Rinse the area with clear water and dry it completely.
