240v Gfci Outlet

I'm confused. I stabbed a 2 pole 20A gfci into a sub panel and ran 12-3 to the jacuzzi tub, ok so far.
My confusion is at the device box, should I use the neut. or the ground for the plug ground strap.
They both get bonded at the entrance but are isolated at the sub. so it really shouldn't make a difference except that the breaker has a neut. lug so i'm inclined to use the neutral on the plug ground screw.
What's the correct way to terminate the wiring to the plug ???

They both get bonded at the entrance but are isolated at the sub.
This is to eliminate the secondary path to ground.
the breaker has a neut. lug so i'm inclined to use the neutral on the plug ground screw.
This is the PLUG for the tub? Is it 3 or 4 prong?

The tub has a 240V 3 prong pigtail and I purchased the same style plug for it to plug into. 3 prong 240V 20A rated spec. grade, the usual style with one vertial and one horizotal blade with the ground.

12-3 to the tub
Is the tub indoors?
The tub has a 240V 3 prong pigtail
If the tub only has three wires (type 6-20 plug), then the neutral does not get connected to anything. The two hot wires get connected to the brass screws on the receptacle (often marked X,Y); the bare ground gets connected to the green screw; the neutral gets capped off with a wirenut.

Just check the manufacter nameplate info to verify it if that is a straght 240 v or 120/240 v. it can change a bit depending on the nameplate info.

The plug can go either voltage but i get it now as far as the termination.
I just always thought the gfci needed the neut. isolated to work.
Thanks All

senice you mention you have GFCI breaker and you have a 240 volt motor and nothing else hook up to the Jacuzzi tub then you only need two hot conductors and ground only [ you can cap off the netural at the plug location]
but the 2 pole GFCI breaker need a netual wire [ short curry wire factory hooked up on one end ] that go to the netual busbar the reason it need because it need power to read the diffrenceal on hot conductor[s].
if you haven't got all the wire in place yet it will be a nice idea to put a 2 pole switch to use as disconnect switch [ some inspectors will reqire this anyway.]
Merci,Marc

yep the 240 is for the motor and heater controler and the 120V 15A gfi right next to this one is for the blower only. Probably to much load to run all the bells and whistles on one circuit.
It's a bath tub not an exterior style hot tub, and if he calls for a sw. then I can just pull the sngl. gang off and nail on a dbl. gang but he was ok with the rough in, just grumbled about the #6 bonding ground just laying there not screwed down yet.
