Order Vietnamese Food

Although the menu may be printed in a language you understand, ordering foreign cuisine can be a challenging task. If you are in the mood to try something new, Vietnamese food offers a variety of choices for everyone. From appetizers like sprint rolls, main entrees such as pho rice noodles and rice plates, you and your friends or family can have an unforgettable dining experience at an authentic Vietnamese restaurant. Add this to my Recipe Box.

Instructions

1. Start off with an appetizer of crispy egg rolls or fresh spring rolls. The spring roll is a signature Vietnamese starter that includes fresh lettuce and your choice of shrimp, chicken, beef or vegetarian ingredients wrapped in a rice sheet. The crispy egg rolls resemble the popular fried egg rolls found on Chinese menus.

2. Order a bowl of pho, an authentic Vietnamese beef or chicken noodle soup. The soup consists of a unique broth flavor, thin slices of eye round steak, well-done flank, soft tendon or beef meatballs.

3. Order a rice or dry noodle entree, which comes with your choice of grilled meats or sliced beef dipped in sweet fish sauce. The combination of rice entrees depends on the individual Vietnamese restaurant and comes with grilled meat and sides like egg cake, Vietnamese salad and other vegetables. The dry noodle, also known as vermicelli noodles, are also served over a grilled meat with sweet fish sauce.

4. Try a dessert. If you are in the mood for something sweet, try the traditional Vietnamese shaved ice. Shaved ice is much like a snow cone, but with different ingredients like cherries, peanuts, mochi and Jell-O that lie underneath.
