Make Homemade Macaroni & Cheese Baby Food

Macaroni and cheese, like most table food, can be easily adapted into baby food that your child will love. Whether you use a powder base macaroni and cheese in a box or cook it from scratch, making the recipe for baby is simple. If your child is allergic to cow's milk or is lactose intolerant, substitute formula, soymilk or even breast milk for the regular milk in the recipe. Soy cheeses are also available for those who have problems with regular milk.

Instructions

1. Prepare the macaroni and cheese according to the recipe. Substitute milk alternatives if needed. Do not add any extra salt or other seasoning to the macaroni and cheese.

2. Spoon several tablespoons of the macaroni and cheese into a blender of food mill. Process the macaroni and cheese until no large pieces of macaroni remain so that baby will not choke on an un-chewed piece.

3. Process the remaining macaroni and cheese in the same way. Refrigerate any unused portion or spoon into ice cube trays and freeze for later use. If desired, season the remaining macaroni and cheese to taste and serve the dish to the rest of your family.

4. Gently heat any refrigerated or frozen macaroni and cheese before feeding to baby. Make sure to stir in order to restore the creamy texture.
