Water & Vinegar Fly Repellent

Vinegar and water is a natural pest repellent.

Fly repellents normally are applied to skin or clothing to keep flies and other insects away. Because of this contact with skin or clothing, it is a good idea to try a natural alternative. Vinegar and water is an easy and popular homemade fly repellent.

Recipe

To create a vinegar and water fly repellent, simply combine distilled or apple cider vinegar and water in equal parts in a spray bottle and spray yourself or pets as needed.

Additives

Many people add other ingredients to their vinegar and water repellents. A healthy squirt of dish detergent, Avon's Skin So Soft, garlic and other substances can be added to the concoction. Citronella, camphor and lavender essential oils also make good additions.

Benefits

Using natural repellents, such as vinegar and water, has many benefits, including being easier on the pocketbook and normally having the items on hand. It also is better for health, and the home and global environment as there is no use of potentially harmful chemicals.
