Get Kids To Eat Cream Of Wheat

Some people recall a nice, hot bowl of Cream of Wheat being the ideal breakfast on a cold morning. Those wanting to spread the gospel to their own children have a wide variety of colorful breakfast cereals to contend with, but it only takes a few easy tricks to get kids to eat Cream of Wheat.

Instructions

1. Make the batch of farina nice and thick so it will not be thinned out when other things are added. Stir well while cooking so that the mixture will be smooth and free of large lumps.

2. Add real butter and milk to each bowl of Cream of Wheat to give it a rich and creamy texture. Some people find that adding a couple drops of vanilla extract gives the cereal a very nice taste.

3. Add a bit of jam or jelly to the mixture for the child that enjoys cereals with a fruit flavor. A child might even enjoy adding it himself using a bottle of squeezable jam.

4. Put a couple of drops of food coloring into the Cream of Wheat to make the cereal the child's favorite color. Let the child try a color combination of his own.

5. Don't forget about the tried-and-true additions to this hot cereal. Make sure there is plenty of honey, plain sugar, brown sugar and cinnamon available.

6. For the truly daring child, offer a variety of fresh fruits and chopped nuts.
