Make A Caramel Flan

If you have a sweet tooth, caramel flan is a great dessert to try. This custardy treat is often served at restaurants, but you can make it at home with a few simple ingredients. After cooking the caramel flan and allowing it to chill, serve the dessert topped with fruit.

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350 F. Cook the sugar in a heavy saucepan over medium heat. Stir the sugar constantly until it is melted and caramel colored.

2. Pour the sugar mixture into ungreased 1 ½-quart ring mold or 9-inch round or square baking pan.

3. Beat the eggs in a medium bowl. Stir in water, milk, vanilla and salt. Pour this mixture over the caramelized sugar. Set the pan in a large pan. Fill the large pan with 1 inch of hot water. Bake for 55 to 60 minutes or until knife inserted in the middle comes out clean.

4. Cool the flan and allow it to chill in the refrigerator. Loosen the side of flan with knife and flip it onto a serving plate with a slight rim. Garnish with fresh fruits.
