The Difference Between A Magimix 3100 & A 4100

Food processors are required for many recipes.

Food processors can be a worthy but costly addition to your kitchen. Because they are required for so many recipes, from dips to soups to sauces, owning your own food processor can improve the way you cook. You will want to research different models beforehand to ensure you spend your money on the right food processor for you and your needs. The Magimix line of food processors has been critically acclaimed by "The New York Times" and "Real Simple" magazine.

Magimix Products

Magimix is an offshoot of the French company Robot-Coupe, which was founded in the early 1960s to create a product that could meet the various culinary needs of chefs. The idea was to have one device that could chop, grind, knead and shred ingredients. While the earlier focus of Robot-Coupe was on industrial-level products, the introduction of Magimix brought these high-level food processors to the domestic level.

Magimix 3100

The Magimix 3100 is a smaller, compact version of the food processor. When you purchase the Magimix 3100, it comes equipped with a 2.5-liter bowl, a sabatier serrated blade, a mini bowl blade, a mini bowl for slicing, a dough blade, a main blade and an egg whisk. In addition, the package includes a 12-year motor guarantee and a 3-year parts warranty.

Magimix 4100

Unlike the Magimix 3100, the Magimix 4100 is larger, offering a 3-liter bowl, and comes with more blades. The Magimix 4100 includes the main bowl, a midi bowl, a mini bowl (with separate blade), a 2mm reversible slicing-grating disc, a 4mm reversible slicing-grating disc, dough blade, egg whisk, sabatier serrated blade, julienne cutter disc, french fry/stir fry disc and parmesan disc. It also comes with a juicer attachment and offers the same warranties as the 3100.

Current Models

On the website, Magimix also offers a 4200 XL model, a 5150 model, and a 5200XL model. The extra large models offer a volume of 16 cups on the main bowl, which is a larger capacity than the 3100 or 4100 models. In addition, Magimix also makes toasters and supplemental add-ons for its food processors.
