Make Lime Jello Salad

Jell-O is a popular food for kids.

Lime Jell-O salad is an easy-to-make treat that is inexpensive and can be made in a variety of ways. It can also be used as a dessert or used as a side dish. Although the combination of ingredients often seem odd to some people, a lime Jell-O salad can make the perfect accompaniment to many dishes. Some save it to serve during holidays and others serve it during the summer months but this is a recipe that can be enjoyed year round.

Instructions

1. Place the lime gelatin and the salt into a bowl. Add 2 cups of hot water and stir until completely dissolved. Stir 2 cups of cold water and allow the gelatin to cool for approximately 30 minutes in the refrigerator.

2. Stir the onion, horseradish, vinegar and cucumber together in another bowl. Gently fold the cucumber mix and the canned pineapple into the lime gelatin.

3. Pour the gelatin mixture into a mold and place flat into the refrigerator. Allow it to remain in the refrigerator for at least six hours until the gelatin has set completely.

4. Fill a sink with hot tap water and place the mold into the hot water for approximately five seconds to loosen the gelatin and allow for easy removal. Remove the mold from the water.

5. Place a serving plate on the top of the gelatin mold; turn the mold upside down to release the Jell-O salad. It should slide out of the mold and rest on the plate for serving.
