Do A Faux Roll Bang

Rolled bangs are a classic symbol of pin-up girl style. Whether you want to experiment with a new look or would like to emulate the style for a special occasion, you can create a faux rolled bangs look at home. By gathering a few common hair tools, you can transform your hair in just minutes and save yourself a trip to the salon.

Instructions

1. Separate a section of hair at the center of your front hairline. Use a comb to section off a V-shaped area. The "V" should open up towards the front hairline.

2. Secure the rest of the hair away from your face using a hair tie or hair pins. You want to keep it out of your way as you work with the bangs.

3. Use a teasing comb to tease the fringe section of hair as you comb it forward. To tease, use short, quick motions as you run the comb through your strands. This will create the volume you need for faux rolled bangs.

4. Spray the section of hair with a heat protectant spray, followed by holding hair spray. The first spray will keep your hair from becoming damaged once you use a heated curling iron. The second spray will help your hair hold the style without becoming frizzy or messy.

5. Curl the section of hair forward using a medium 1-inch curling iron. This means you will hold the curling iron horizontally, clamp the entire hair section and roll the curling iron forward. Hold it until your hair becomes warm, but not hot. Release the curling iron; spritz your hair with holding spray once again and curl forward one last time. After you release the curling iron again, be sure not to disturb the curl you've created.

6. Pin the forward curling bangs using bobby pins so that you create a slightly lifted roll. For more flare, you can loosen the roll bangs a bit or curve them slightly at the ends and pin them again. Style the rest of your hair as you'd like and leave the pins in so the faux rolled bangs do not unravel.
