Fill A Doughnut With Jelly

Jelly doughnuts are available in a wide variety of flavors and sizes. Almost any type of jelly can be placed inside a doughnut. Instead of purchasing jelly doughnuts, you can make your own at home. While jelly-filled doughnuts may seem difficult to make, the jelly or jam actually fills the inside of the doughnuts after they are finished baking or frying. It may take trial and error to achieve the desired results, but in the end, it will be well worth the effort.

Instructions

1. Add the jelly to the pastry bag or syringe with a spoon. Scoop the jelly in and add more jelly as needed.

2. Fill the doughnuts once they cool slightly. Poke a hole on the side of the doughnut with a toothpick if you have difficulty inserting the pastry tip.

3. Push the tip of the syringe or pastry bag about one-quarter of the way into the doughnut. Avoid pushing it too far in because the tip can easily come out the other side or it can tear the doughnut.

4. Squeeze the pastry bag gently or push on the syringe to pipe in 1 to 2 tsp. of jelly into the doughnuts. Avoid putting in too much because you can crack the doughnuts or cause them to split.
