Chocolate Fountain Food Ideas

Chocolate fountains are fountains that circulate melted chocolate into which food can be dipped. Most chocolate fountains are rented from a special event company or from a event planner for a wedding, cocktail party or corporate event.

There are usually platters of food that pair nicely with chocolate that are used to dip into the fountains. Most items are skewered so you don't have to use your hands and fingers to dip into the fountain.

Fruit

Fruit is a classic food item used to dip into a chocolate fountain. The best fruit to use is fruit that won't break apart and clog the fountain. Fruits like strawberries, pineapple and honeydew are very popular to dip into a chocolate fountain. The smartest way to choose the best fruit is to determine what fruit is at its peak season when you are having the party.

Dried Fruit

If it is not possible to use fresh fruit, dried fruit is delicious with a chocolate fountain. Use dried apricots, mangoes, cherries, raspberries, apples and any other dried fruit that is able to be skewered. Decoratively arrange the dried fruit in a rainbow of colors on a silver platter garnished with fresh mint sprigs.

Baked Goods

Baked goods are a great food to use in a chocolate fountain. Items like pound cake can be skewered and dipped easily into the fountain. With tongs, you can have guests dip vanilla cream cookies, graham crackers, brownies, cheesecake, pretzels, shortbread cookies, rice crispy treats and oatmeal cookies.

Candy

Some people like to dip candy into the chocolate fountain. These can include caramels, gummy worms or marshmallows. It is best to have an option of tongs or skewers for odd-sized items.
