Make Tacos With Chicken

Chicken tacos can be a healthy alternative to ground beef tacos, which can sometimes be greasy if not drained and cooked properly. Tacos are filled with explosive flavors because of toppings such as sour cream, cheddar cheese, tomatoes and guacamole. Making tacos can also be a great way to get the family involved in dinner preparation, and it is a fun, easy task for children as well.

Instructions

1. Wash the chicken, cutting away any unwanted fat, and then lay it on a paper towel to dry. Make sure to wash it with lukewarm water. Washing the chicken with hot water may cause it to lose some of its skin. Season both sides of the chicken with salt and pepper (to taste) and meat tenderizer.

2. Preheat your grill to medium heat. (Note that a conventional oven may also be used.) Grill the chicken breasts for about 10 minutes, checking every few minutes to make sure they're not burning. Slice the chicken breasts down the middle to make sure they're done, and then slice into thin strips. (If you prefer, you may dice the chicken.)

3. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Place the eight taco shells onto the baking sheet and warm for about 3 minutes. The chicken tacos will taste better if the shells are warm, but this is not necessary.

4. Arrange the taco shells on the plate and start assembling your ingredients. Add the tomatoes, cheese and chicken to the taco shells. Top with sour cream and serve.
