Make A Homemade French Fry Cutter Mount

Generally most french fry cutters come with mounts attached to them. When it comes to making a french fry cutting mount ,it is really more of a matter of mounting the fry cutter to something that is stable enough to hold it up. The mount itself is not a specific design, but rather anything that you mount the french fry cutter to. The fry cutter simply has the mounting materials. As a result, the best homemade french fry cutter mount is generally a stud that is already in your wall.

Instructions

1. Find the stud using a stud finder. Run the bottom of the stud finder across the wall. If you have a magnetic stud finder, then a piece will move when you run the stud finder over the wall. If you have a battery-powered stud finder, then a light will come on to indicate that you have found a stud. It is very important you mount the cutter to a stud. If you do not it will not very stable, and most likely rip off the wall upon use. When finding your stud, find a stud that is over a counter top. This will make it easier to collect your fries in a dish of some sort.

2. Align your french fry cutter over your stud you have found on your wall. Depending on the size of the container you intend to put under the fry cutter, you may need to mount the cutter several inches to a full foot off the counter.

3. Use the pencil to mark the locations where the screws will go through the french fry cutter and into the wall. This will help you make sure that your french fry cutter is mounted in the position that you want later.

4. Screw the 2-inch wood screws into each provided hole on the french fry cutter. Make sure the screws are hitting the stud. You will know when you feel tension on the screw. Check to make sure that the holes in the french fry cutter are lined up with the pencil marks.

5. Test out the fry cutter. After your screws are snugly in place test your fry cutter to make it operates smoothly. If it feels loose then you may need to plant the screws more firmly in the stud.
