Make Barbecued Pork Ribs

These country-style ribs are delicious any time of year. Serves four.

Instructions

1. Combine ketchup, onion, vinegar, molasses, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, garlic and 1/4 c. water in a saucepan; bring to a boil.

2. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring often. Remove from heat when sauce is desired thickness.

3. Trim fat from meat.

4. Arrange preheated coals around a drip pan in a grill with a cover.

5. Test the heat of the coals by holding your hand over the coals at the same height as where the food will be grilled. Hold your hand as long as you can in that spot. When you can only count to four (counting "one thousand one, one thousand two," etc.) the coals are ready.

6. Place the ribs on a grill rack over the drip pan. Cover.

7. Grill the ribs 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Brush occasionally with sauce during the last 10 minutes of grilling. Ribs are done when they are tender and no pink remains.

8. Heat the remaining sauce until bubbly. Serve it with the ribs.
