Cut Fudge

There is no more welcome treat than homemade fudge. Cutting the fudge does not need to be a difficult process. You can cut your fudge into simple squares, roll it into tubes and slice it, or use cookie cutters to make any shape you wish.

Instructions

1. Choose the right sized pan for your fudge recipe if you want to cut your fudge into squares or use cookie cutters to cut out shapes. Most recipes require you use a pan that measures 13 inches by 9 inches and is 2 inches deep.

2. Line the pan with a large piece of aluminum foil, wax paper or parchment paper. Your paper liner should be large enough to cover the bottom and sides of the inside of the pan and extend out over the edges of the pan. Spray the paper liner with baking spray to grease it.

3. Spread the fudge into the pan and place the pan in the refrigerator to cool.

4. Remove the pan from the refrigerator after it has cooled. Lift the edges of the foil or paper to remove the fudge from the pan. Lay the paper with the fudge on it onto a cutting board. Peal the liner away from all four sides of the fudge.

5. Use a sharp heavy knife or a dough cutter in a rocking motion to cut the fudge in one direction. Make your first cut around 1 inch in from the edge of the fudge. Continue cutting the same direction, moving your knife over 1 inch each time until your entire piece of fudge has been cut into 1 inch rows.

6. Turn the cutting board on the counter so your fudge is now pointing the other direction. Use your knife to cut the fudge again in the other direction. Again move your knife over around 1 inch each time so you have 1 inch square pieces of fudge.
