Make A Three Bean Casserole

Three bean casseroles are full of vitamins and nutrients. Black turtle and lima beans have high levels of protein. This three bean casserole is low in calories and vegetarian friendly. Prepare and cook your three bean casserole in about one hour. Read on to learn how.


Instructions


1. Preheat the oven to 300 degrees.


2. Melt the butter or margarine in a skillet over medium heat.


3. Peel and dice the onion and garlic. Place them in the skillet and saute for 5 to 10 minutes or until the onion becomes translucent.


4. Stir in the brown sugar, mustard, black turtle beans, lima beans, baked beans, tomato sauce, vinegar, whole kernel corn and barley. Mix the ingredients well.


5. Taste the casserole. Add salt and pepper to taste.


6. Pour all of the ingredients into a buttered, 2-quart casserole dish. Cover the dish with aluminum foil.


7. Place in the oven and bake for 25 minutes.


8. Remove the dish from the oven and uncover carefully. Steam from the casserole may burn the skin.


9. Stir the casserole thoroughly and then place it back into the oven for 5 minutes.
