How Are Green Eggs Produced

Green eggs-travaganza

Eggs are boiled for 10 minutes and the eggshells are carefully peeled afterward. The eggs are then cut in half to remove the yolks without destroying the boiled egg. The yolks are then mixed with mayonnaise and mustard. Salt and pepper is added to taste. To make the egg mixture look green, food coloring is added depending on the desired shade. The whole mixture is then scooped back into the egg whites and garnished with parsley or individual ham rounds.

The eggs are usually served with toast.

Green eggs and ham a la Sam-I-Am

If you have been wondering what exactly Sam served to the other character that turned out to be so delicious in the end, here is an idea. This version of green eggs and ham uses any type of ham that can be found in the kitchen. Ham is fried in butter over medium heat until it is slightly crisp. Eggs, salt, pepper and milk are then mixed together until a frothy mixture is produced. To turn the eggs green, a drop or two of food coloring is added. The egg mixture is then fried in butter over medium heat until the eggs are firm.

The eggs are served with the fried ham and garnished with parsley.

Green eggs and ham for grownups

If you are not a big fan of food coloring, there is another way to make the eggs turn green. The grownup version of green eggs and ham uses spinach pesto sauce. Spinach, scallions and ham are stirred in hot butter and cooked over medium-high heat for two minutes. After that, the eggs are poured into the mixture and cooked until they are firm enough, at which point, pesto, pepper and salt are added.
