Cook A Cucumber

Cucumbers are tasty and nutritious.

A cucumber is a nutritious food high in vitamin C. There are a number of ways to consume a cucumber: raw, cooked or pickled. Cook a cucumber separately or add it in a salad. Season cucumbers with mint, dill, rosemary or thyme. There is virtually no wrong way to cook a cucumber.

Instructions

1. Peel the cucumber with a carrot peeler or knife. Lay the cucumber on a cutting board and cut it in half the long way. Open the two sides so the seeds are facing up.

2. Scoop out the seeds with a small spoon. Cut the two halves into chunks. Sprinkle salt into a pot of water and bring to a boil. Place the cucumber chunks into the water.

3. Boil the cucumber for four to five minutes. Empty the pot into a strainer. Place the pot back on the stove and put butter in it to melt. Add your choice of herb to the melted butter.

4. Add the cucumber to the seasoned butter and stir. Keep the cucumber on the stove until the pieces are warm. Then, remove from the heat and serve.
