Vegetables To A Fruit Smoothie

Adding vegetables to a fruit smoothie is an excellent way to get the daily recommended servings of vegetables. While many people don't like the taste of fresh vegetables, pureeing them in a fruit smoothie hides their flavor, making a healthy and delicious drink.

Instructions

1. Put fruit in the blender. Chop the fruit into 1 inch pieces before placing them in the blender. This will help them blend more smoothly and not get trapped under the blades in the blender.

2. Place the lid securely on top and blend on high for 20 to 30 seconds. Check to make sure everything is smoothly blended. If the fruit is still chunky or if any pieces got trapped under the blender blades, use a spatula and stir the fruit before blending for another 20 to 30 seconds.

3. Add ice cubes or ice cold water to the blender once the fruit is fully blended. This will help thin out the fruit making it a smoother consistency.

4. Chop vegetables to 1 inch pieces and add them to the blender. Continue running the blender on high until the vegetables are completely blended in with the fruit and water.

5. Include any other ingredients you would like to add to your smoothie. A vanilla or plain yogurt will add additional health benefits and will make your smoothie more creamy. Add vanilla ice cream if you're making a dessert smoothie.
