Good Ways To Make Ramen Noodles

Ramen noodles can be the base for many recipes.

Ramen noodles are a staple for inexpensive and quick meals to make. Dehydrated ramen noodles stay fresh for months and come with a convenient sauce packet to make meals fast. You can improve the taste of ramen and make many styles of meals just by adding a few ingredients to the basic ramen packages.

Broccoli Stir Fry

Mix ¼ of a red onion, four or five florets of broccoli and 2 tbsp. of olive oil in a frying pan until the vegetables are soft. Add the ramen spice packet to the vegetables and mix. Cook the ramen in a separate pan until soft. Drain the water and add the noodles to the broccoli mixture. Mix all of the ingredients together and serve immediately. You could add additional vegetables to the mixture if desired, such as tomatoes, baby corn, mushrooms or bamboo shoots.

Bacon Ramen

Cook ¼ of a white onion and two strips of bacon in a frying pan along with cooking spray or 1 tsp. of oil. When the onion and bacon is cooked, add 1/3 cup of cream to the pan and mix. Add a spice packet to the cream mixture for flavor. Cook the ramen in a separate pan until the noodles get soft. Drain the ramen and add it to the cream mixture. You can also add chopped potatoes to the ramen if desired.

Ramen Snacks

Crush the ramen into pieces while it is still in the package. Heat 1/3 a cup of oil in a sauce pan on the stove under low heat. Cook the pieces of ramen in the oil until they turn light brown. Remove from the oil and drain. Place the noodles in a large bowl. Add ¼ cup of dried apricots, ¼ cup of dried almonds and ½ a cup of dried cranberries to the bowl. Mix thoroughly and serve.

Ramen Salad

Heat 1/3 of cooking oil in a sauce pan on medium heat. Add the noodles to the oil and cook until golden brown. Remove the noodles and drain excess oil. Allow the noodles to cool. While the noodles cool, chop one head of bok choy, ½ a cup of almonds and 1 green onion. Mix the noodles and vegetables. Heat 1/3 of a cup of olive oil, ½ a cup of sugar, 1 tsp. of soy sauce and ¼ cup of vinegar in a pot over low heat. When it starts to boil, remove the sauce from the heat. Pour the sauce over the vegetables and serve warm or cold.
