Diy Homemade Prim Tags

Make your own prim gift tags for your gifts.

Primitive style is not just for home decor. The style adds originality and personalization in other ways, such as gift tags---or tags for any reason. Primitive tags can add a country feel to any holiday or occasion. Homemade prim tags are easy to create, but they can leave a lasting impression on friends and family who appreciate the personal touch. Try making your own prim tags to add to your presents for the next holiday or event.

Instructions

1. Cut a sheet of card stock to the shape and size you want your tag to be. Use white or colored card stock. If you decide to use a color, choose a deep burgundy, navy blue or olive green.

2. Use pinking shears to add a decorative edge all the way around the tag.

3. Run water over a tea bag to moisten it, then rub the bag over the card stock you cut out. This will stain the paper and make it appear worn and aged. Allow it to dry.

4. If your tag is for a gift, press a rubber "to and from" stamp into a stamp pad, then stamp your tag. If your tag has another purpose, such as a price tag, use number stamps to stamp a dollar amount onto the tag.

5. Stamp images onto the tag with primitive-style rubber stamps the way you stamped the "to and from" or number stamps. Browse the selection in your local craft store for primitive-styled stamps that fit your particular holiday or event.

6. Punch a hole with a hole punch on a corner or side of the tag where it will not interfere with the wording or image stamps.

7. Tie a section of twine through the hole and secure it with a knot.
