Make A Light Cheesecake

Cheesecake is a mouth-watering dessert that many people enjoy. However, if you are watching your weight, cheesecake is not usually part of your diet. You don't have to go without your favorite dessert, though. Alter your recipe with lower-fat ingredients and you can enjoy your cheesecake while sticking to your diet.

Instructions

1. Read over your recipe, noting the ingredients. Make a list of the fattening ingredients that you must replace.

2. Buy reduced-fat cream cheese instead of regular cream cheese. Ricotta cheese is also a good substitute for regular cream cheese.

3. Replace regular sour cream with low-fat sour cream. You can also mix cottage cheese in with sour cream. However, you must use a food processor to ensure the proper consistency.

4. Make the graham cracker crust with margarine instead of butter. You can also choose to replace the graham cracker crust with a light pastry recipe.

5. Use egg whites to replace whole egg yolks. Blend the beaten egg whites into the cheese mixture for a lighter, creamier cheesecake.

6. Try different low-fat recipes until you find one that works for you. Make sure you write down the ingredients and measurements you use each time you try a new recipe.
