Fold Wonton Wrappers

Regular-sized wonton wrappers are 3 inches wide.

Wonton wrappers, also known as dumpling wrappers, are nice to have on hand for a quick appetizer or soup ingredient. Made from eggs, flour and salt, wonton wrappers have an easy-to-fold square shape. These tasty treats may be prepped ahead of time so you can serve them hot. To keep your filling in place during the cooking process you'll need to seal and fold the wontons properly. Try a few basic fold methods for an eye-appealing food.

Instructions

Triangle Fold

1. Pour a small bowl with cool water. Remove your wonton wrappers from the refrigerator.

2. Place the wonton wrapper on a clean plate or cutting board. The wrapper should be in a diamond shape with a pointed edge at the top and bottom. Spoon a teaspoon of filling in the center of the wrapper.

3. Dip your fingertip in the water. Rub the water over the edges of the wonton.

4. Pull the top tip down and over the bottom edge. Press the wonton edges together, removing any air bubbles and sealing in the filling.

Cupped Shape

5. Place the wonton wrapper in your hand. Spoon 1 tsp. of filling in the center of the wonton wrapper with the other hand.

6. Cup the wonton wrapper, pulling all four sides together and forming the shape inside your hand.

7. Place the wrapper on a plate and continue to fill and cup the wontons.
