Work A Fondue Fountain

Chocolate fondue fountains create a waterfall of warm, melted chocolate that pours over strawberries, cake chunks, marshmallows, or whatever you care to hold under the flow. With a fondue fountain, dessert becomes part of your party's entertainment. Plus, fondue fountains are easier to use and make less mess than traditional fondue pots. Most fondue fountains disassemble easily, and you can wash the parts in the dishwasher, making cleanup simple.

Instructions

1. Turn on the fountain, and allow it to warm while you prepare the chocolate.

2. Place five pounds of chocolate chips or bits in a microwave-safe container. Add 1/2 cup vegetable oil.

3. Microwave the chocolate and oil on high for 1 1/2 minutes. Stir. Microwave for another 1 1/2 minutes. Stir. Continue to heat at 10-second intervals until the mixture is smooth.

4. Fill the bottom bowl of the warm fondue fountain with the melted chocolate. Switch on the fountain auger. If the chocolate doesn't flow smoothly, check first to make sure the fondue fountain is level. If the chocolate is too thick, add oil a teaspoon at a time to the base of the fountain.
