Use White Tea For Health

Tea is fast becoming the drink of choice for many Americans. Our stressed-out society is willing to try anything for some down time, and tea is a proven soother of nerves. Different teas help the body in different ways. Here are some of white tea's special powers and use them.

Instructions

1. Replace your coffee or diet soda with white tea for better dental health. White tea has some of the same health benefits as coffee or sodas, but it does not pose the same staining threat to your teeth.

2. Keep your bacteria levels down. New studies are suggesting that drinking a couple of cups of white tea a day can keep certain types of bacteria, such as Staphylococcus and Streptococcus, under control.

3. Take your antioxidants and leave your tannins and grass. White tea leaves are picked and dried before oxidization. The high levels of antioxidants in white tea are very good for you. White tea is also free of a grassy flavor (usually tasted in green tea) and tannins (found in black teas). Many people get headaches from tannins, which makes white tea a great option for migraine sufferers.

4. Lower your risk of stomach and colon cancer. Research studies done in Oregon have pointed to a lowered chance of certain types of cancers once you become a white tea drinker. Polyphenols are a type of antioxidant found in abundance in white tea. Antioxidants are known to fight off many forms of cancer.

5. Reduce your caffeine intake. White tea has much less caffeine than other forms of tea, approximately 5 to 15 milligrams in a cup.
