Reduce Heat From Hot Peppers On Hands

Never touch your eyes after contact with hot peppers.

Anytime that your hands are in contact with hot peppers, you are going to feel the after burn from the pepper's oils later on. The amount of burning will depend on which type of pepper you use; some are worse than others. No matter what your situation, it's possible to substantially reduce the heat and soothe your hands.

Instructions

1. Wash your hands off thoroughly with warm water and seven to eight drops of dish soap. Water by itself won't help, but adding dish soap will help to remove the majority of oils from the hot peppers.

2. Brush underneath your fingernails using a nail brush or toothbrush to remove any trapped oils before rinsing the soap off of your hands.

3. Pour some lemon juice into a medium-size bowl and soak your hands in the juice for 2 to 3 minutes. This should eliminate any remaining oils from your hands.

4. Empty the lemon juice from the bowl and rinse it out with water.

5. Pour some milk into the medium sized bowl and place your hands in the bowl until the burning has completely subsided. This is an effective method of soothing your hands. Afterward, rinse your hands off with cool water.

6. Rub a small amount of aloe vera gel onto both of your hands if there is any after-burn. This is one of nature's best remedies, and it will keep your hands feeling soothed.
