Lift An Omelet Out Of A Pan

Omelets should be lifted carefully from the pan and transferred to the plate.

Omelets, or beaten eggs filled with cheese, meat or vegetables, are usually cooked in a pan using oil or butter. After cooking the omelet, lifting it out of the pan properly is a must in order to maintain the shape and keep it from losing some of its contents. Lifting an omelet from a pan is a simple process. All it requires is a fork, a plate and a little know-how.

Instructions

1. Fold the omelet over to finish the cooking process. Shift the pan up 45 degrees and tap the pan handle a few times to move the omelet to the opposite end of the pan.

2. Take a fork in your free hand and push the tongs of the fork beneath the edges of the omelet. Lift up slightly with the fork to keep the omelet from sticking.

3. Set the fork down and pick up a plate with your free hand. Remove the pan from the heat. Hold the plate and pan so that both objects tilt toward each other. Position the pan so that it slightly overlaps one edge of the plate.

4. Lift the pan sideways and then move the pan away from the plate. The omelet should slide onto the plate.

5. If the omelet remains partially on the pan, tilt the pan toward the plate and shake it gently to help slide the omelet forward. Use the fork to arrange the omelet on the plate as desired.
