Edible Cake Toppers

Edible Cake Toppers

Cakes have been used for every event or celebration from weddings and birthdays to company launches and corporate meetings. Edible cake toppers offer that unique touch that makes the event that much more special. They are so diverse in shape, size and substance that they are suited for any occasion.

Function

Cake toppers are decorations that sit on top of a cake for enhanced aesthetic value.

Features

Edible cake toppers are unique because--unlike some other cake toppers--they are made of hard sugar or fondant, and they are okay to eat.

Use

Edible cake toppers can potentially be used for any occasion, ranging from weddings to birthday parties, Easter to Halloween, baby showers, and national to religious holidays.

Variations

Many edible cake toppers include multiple different foods in addition to the sugar or fondant. The most common are colored sprinkles, M&Ms, candy pieces, chocolate syrup, and nuts. These are generally added for additional aesthetic value, whether it be part of a design or simply to liven the piece up.

Photographic Toppers

Some companies offer to take a submitted photo and print it out on icing sheets (also called frosting sheets) for you to place on a cake as a topper. Icing sheets and edible inks can also be purchased for home printing use. Additionally, photo cake toppers can be handmade with rice paper.
