When Is The Lobster Fest In Maine

The Maine Lobster Festival takes place in Harbor Park, on Penobscot Bay, in Rockland, Maine. In August, join 25,000 attendees for a five-day lobster-eating, entertainment-filled good time.


Date


Rockland, Maine has celebrated the lobster, lobstermen and the area with a public gathering since the summer of 1947. Festival attendees gather annually in the last days of July leading to the first weekend in August for the event.


Food


The Maine Lobster Festival serves over 20,000 lbs. of lobster to attendees from all over the country. Clams, shrimp, mussels in a wine sauce and a variety of traditional fair foods along with a pancake breakfast are offered.


Events


The festival has a 10K road race, cooking contest, lobster crate race or Children's 1-mile Fun Race, Diaper Derby, Codfish Carry and costume parade as well as the Sea Princess, Maine Sea Goddess pageant and coronation.


Entertainment


King Neptune, Naval Coast Guard members and the artists of the juried art show navigate the crowd, and an arts and crafts tent sells souvenirs and gifts for the holidays.
