Jazz Up A Frozen Pizza

There are ways to jazz up a frozen pizza so it goes from ok to gourmet, and none of them take much time. Follow these steps.

Instructions

1. Add more cheese. More mozzarella is the obvious choice, but you might want to add provolone, asiago, parmesan and romano for more flavor. Try out some of the other cheeses you may have on hand in the house, too. Goat cheese is an unusual, exotic choice that you may enjoy.

2. Pile on the vegetables! Use three different colors of bell pepper for a beautiful presentation. Choose seasonal vegetables at the peak of their flavor.

3. Check out some frozen vegetables while you are getting that frozen pizza. Spinach or squash may be just what your pie needs.

4. Visit the deli for pepperoni, Italian sausage, pieces of rotisserie chicken or thinly sliced carpaccio. Other ethnic sausages like kielbasa or andouille may give your frozen pizza more punch.

5. Toss on some herbs to really kick the flavor up another notch. Use classic ones like fresh basil or oregano, veer off into another direction with a sprinkling of rosemary, or go for a completely different taste with Mexican or Indian spices.

6. Experiment with different mushrooms. A mixture of portobello, button and cremini could turn your pizza into a gourmet delight.
