3. Add fire roasted tomatoes. Another wonderful way to add flavor to your gourmet chili is to add fire roasted tomatoes. This will add even more smoky flavor that your guests are sure to love.
4. Substitute the chili powder. Almost every recipe calls for chili powder, but if you want a more gourmet flavor, why not consider adding ancho chiles or chipotle peppers in adobo sauce? Both choices will add a more complex flavor.
