Find A Nutrition Expert

A nutritionist's job is to plan diets for patients and to educate people about healthy eating. He studies, interprets and develops the eating patterns of each patient according to his medical status. He also counsels the patient on essential exercises and lifestyle choices required for healthy living healthy. It is not very difficult to find a licensed nutrition expert in your area. With the availability of the Internet, it has gotten all the more easy to find the specialists in your area.


Instructions


1. Ask your general physician for a referral to a nutrition expert she may know of.


2. Go to the website of the "American Clinical Board of Nutrition" (see Resources). ACBN's website provides a list of certified nutritionists, who can be searched by name on the website or by state.


3. Send an email to "ddc@clinicalnutrition.com" or call (972) 407-9089 or (972) 250-2829 to request the American Associations of Clinical Nutritionists to give you a list of certified nutrition experts in your particular area.


4. Check out the eatright.org, the website of "The American Dietetic Association Foundation (ADAF)," an organization that focuses on dietetics, nutrition and food. See its link in Resources section, where you can type in your ZIP code to find a nutrition professional. You can also zoom in on the map to locate your area.


5. Find registered dietitians on the website "Dietitians." This website lets you search registered dietitians by ZIP code. You can also specify distance, for instance, "25 Miles" or "50 Miles" around the specified ZIP code. RDlink.com is a similar website that has a list of online weight-loss programs featuring registered dietitians.
