Make A Creamy Alfredo Sauce

Top your pasta with creamy Alfredo sauce.

Pouring smooth and creamy Alfredo sauce over a platter of hot pasta makes a delicious dinner. Alfredo sauce is made from a blend of cheeses and other rich ingredients, such as butter. To make the meal even more filling, you can add grilled chicken or sauteed mushrooms. Preparing homemade Alfredo sauce doesn't take much more time than opening a jar of its store-bought counterpart, and the end result is much more satisfying.

Instructions

1. Pour 1 pint of heavy cream into a medium saucepan and warm it over medium-low heat.

2. Add 1/2 cup of softened butter and whisk until it's melted.

3. Incorporate 3/4 cup of shredded Parmesan cheese and 1/4 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese into the mixture. Stir the mixture until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth and creamy.

4. Sprinkle in salt, freshly ground black pepper, dried basil and garlic powder to taste.

5. Serve the sauce over your favorite type of pasta, such as fettuccine, penne or angel hair.
