Make The Best New York Cheesecake

New York cheesecake is a rich and sweet dessert.


New York cheesecake is unlike other cheesecakes because it uses cream cheese instead of Ricotta cheese, making for a creamier, richer cheesecake. Fortunately, you don't have to visit New York to indulge in this mouthwatering dessert. This recipe, straight from the Big Apple, is easy to prepare and will satisfy your craving for New York cheesecake.


Instructions


Prepare Crust


1. Soften butter in the microwave. Use a low setting to avoid burning the butter.


2. Combine graham cracker crumbs, sugar and softened butter in a medium size mixing bowl.


3. Mix well.


4. Grease your spring form pan.


5. Press crumbs evenly over the bottom of the pan and up the sides 1 inch.


6. Cover and refrigerate until filling is ready.


Prepare Filling


7. Mix cream cheese, sugar and flour with an electric beater on medium speed until smooth.


8. Add the eggs one at a time and mix well.


9. Mix in whipping cream, vanilla extract and lemon zest. Beat well.


10. Pour the mixture into the pie crust.


Bake


11. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.


12. Place your springform pan onto a baking sheet, to avoid any spills.


13. Place the cheesecake on the middle rack of your oven and bake for fifteen minutes.


14. Lower oven temperature to 250 degrees Fahrenheit.


15. Continue baking for 60 to 90 minutes or until your cheesecake appears firm. It should be a little wet in the middle. Remove and cool on cooling rack.
