Microwave Potatoes Au Gratin

Potatoes au gratin makes a great side dish.

Potatoes au gratin make for a great side dish, and cooking them in the microwave makes preparation even easier. According to SheKnows.com, this recipe is simple and takes only about 15 minutes total to prep and cook the potatoes. Potatoes au gratin are similar to scalloped potatoes, and the combination of potatoes and cheddar cheese makes for a great dish for the holidays or for a weeknight meal. Add this to my Recipe Box.

Instructions

1. Wash the potatoes and cut them into slices about 1/8-inch thick.

2. Pour enough of the milk into the microwave-safe dish to cover the bottom. Layer the potato slices in the dish in a single layer and add salt, pepper and cheese to taste to the first layer.

3. Layer the rest of the potatoes in the dish. Pour the remaining milk over the potatoes. Put the rest of the cheese on top of the potatoes.

4. Cover the dish with the lid and microwave on high for at least 10 minutes, or until the potatoes are done.
