Make Sauce For Hamburgers

Homemade sauces for hamburgers taste much better than store-bought sauce. If you are adventurous and don't mind spending a little extra time to create a sauce that your family is sure to love, then try homemade sauce for a change. There are many different version of this sauce, so you can follow the directions to make a sauce with a basic barbecue flavor. Once you have the technique down, experiment and add or take away some ingredients to get the sauce just the way you like it.


Instructions


1. Spray the frying pan with a no-stick cooking spray.


2. Turn the stove on medium and add butter. Make sure the butter melts before continuing.


3. Dice the onions and celery; using a food processor is helpful. Add them to the frying pan and saute in the melted butter.


4. Add water, ketchup, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, lemon juice, pepper and mustard. Mix the sauce together with a wooden spoon.


5. Turn the heat on the stove down to low. Simmer the mixture for 20 minutes.


6. Stir sauce every 3 or 4 minutes until the 20 minutes is up.


7. Allow sauce to cool and spoon over hamburgers.
