Make Avacado Dip

Make a smooth, healthy avocado dip.

Offer your family and friends a healthy, tasty dip at your next gathering. This avocado dip includes spicy flavors but no guilt. For a milder, kid-friendly version, simply omit the jalapeno. Serve with tortilla chips or taquitos, or keep this snack on the right track by dipping fresh vegetables. Avocados do not keep well, but adding a tablespoon of lemon juice can help preserve the color and keep the avocado from browning. This recipe makes 3 cups.

Instructions

1. Cut the avocados in half. Remove the seed and run a knife around the flesh to separate it from the peel. Squeeze the avocado into a bowl. Do the same for each avocado. If you are using packaged avocado, squeeze it into the bowl.

2. Peel, seed and chop the tomatoes. Seed and chop the jalapenos. Finely chop the onions and cilantro.

3. Add the vegetables and peppers to the avocados. Stir to evenly distribute the ingredients as you add in the salt and hot chili sauce. Serve immediately.
