Use A Fondue Pot For Warming Food

Fondue pots can be used for many diverse food stuffs.

Fondue pots are heating vessels that are usually used to melt and keep at a constant temperature cheese, chocolate or soup products. Eating fondue is actually dipping foods in the melted concoction to give it a coating of whatever the melted product is. Fondue pots may also be used to heat up non-fondue specific foods as well.

Instructions

1. Put the food into the fondue pot. The fondue pot should be turned off and unplugged before doing this to ensure consistency and to prevent potential damage to the pot. If food is placed in the pot while it is already on, it can result in that food being burnt to the bottom of the pot. Solid foods alone should never be emptied into fondue pots as this can cause burning. Fondue pots are designed to circulate the dish while it is heating up and solid foods cannot circulate. If you must put a solid food in, pour in a liquid along with it, like water or milk, to keep it from burning.

2. Cover and turn the fondue pot on medium heat. This will allow the heat to pick up at an easy pace, not burning anything. Once the food in the pot begins to boil, reduce the heat of the fondue pot down to low heat where it can simmer.

3. Allow the dish to simmer for as long as needed. When it is ready to be served, turn the pot off before serving. If the pot is staying out for a long period of time, keep the pot off for an hour or so before turning it back on to low heat. Do not keep the pot on for longer than four hours after removing the cover and serving.
