Make A Bottle Stopper

Making a bottle stopper on your own can be a fun and creative project for you and your friends when you have some free time. Bottle stoppers are useful items to have in the kitchen when you want a glass of wine and do not plan on finishing the entire bottle. While it might sound like a fairly difficult process, it actually is quite simple if you follow the proper guidelines and instructions.

Instructions

1. Use a pencil to mark the center point of the cork. Use a C-clamp to gently clamp the cork. Make sure there is enough pressure being applied so that the cork will not move during the next step.

2. Grab a drill bit that is barely smaller than the threaded bolt, and attach it to your drill. Drill a hole half-way through the cork's center. Be very careful when drilling, and make sure the hole is drilled very straight. Release the cork from the C-clamp.

3. Glue one end of the threaded bolt into the drawer pull. Choose a decorative drawer pull to your liking. You can find dozens of variations at your local hardware store. Glue the other end of the threaded bolt into the hole that was drilled on the cork. Apply pressure to both ends so that the glue adheres to the cork. Allow the cork to sit for 5 to 10 minutes before testing it out.
