Use A Cuisinart Electric Fondue Set

Cuisinart Model CFO-3SS Electric Fondue Set

The Cuisinart Model CFO-3SS Electric Fondue Set consists of a stainless steel, nonstick 3-qt. fondue pot, eight color-coded forks and a fork ring. The 1000-watt adjustable heating probe attaches magnetically to the power cord as a safety feature. It detaches easily if the cord is accidentally yanked, to help prevent spills. Use this guide to get started with the fondue set and familiarize yourself with the basics of preparing cheese, chocolate, broth and oil fondues. Follow the links below for information on fondue recipes and etiquette.

Instructions

1. Set the pot on a level, heat-resistant surface. Set the temperature control dial to "Off" and plug it into the receptacle on the pot. Attach the magnetic power cord plug to the control before plugging it into the AC outlet.

2. Prepare chocolate fondues by heating chocolate chunks and heavy cream at setting 3.5 to 4.5. Stir in solid ingredients and flavoring liqueurs after the chocolate-cream base is well blended.

3. Make savory cheese fondues by first sautéing finely chopped vegetables at setting 5.5. Increase the temperature to 6.5 and add liquids--wine and beer are popular choices. After they boil, reduce the heat to 4.5 and add shredded cheese.

4. Make broth fondues by cooking vegetables at a medium setting, then adding meat, fish or vegetable stock. Skewer chunks of meat, vegetables and mushrooms and cook them to taste in the broth.

5. Use the fork ring with oil fondues to rest the forks against during cooking and reduce splatter. Heat the oil to boiling at setting 7.5, then reduce it to 6.0. Cook morsels of meat and seafood in the hot oil, adjusting the temperature upward if needed.

6. Turn the heat setting to "Off" after using the fondue pot. Unplug it and allow the contents to cool before moving it.
