Use A Stovetop Smoker

Using a stovetop smoker isn't hard, and once you taste the results of your smoking efforts, you'll want to smoke more of your foods. You only need a few things to get going with your stovetop smoker besides the smoker itself. Don't be afraid to experiment with different wood chips, liquids, and foods as you smoke, that's half the fun. You can find stovetop smokers at most kitchen stores or at your local restaurant supply company. Here's use one.

Instructions

1. Sprinkle your wood chips in the very bottom of the smoker.

2. Add liquid to the chips before you begin cooking, so they soak it up and don't burn during cooking, but smoke instead. You can use beer, wine, water, or any liquid of your choice.

3. Line the drip pan with aluminum foil.

4. Place the drip pan in the smoker over the wood chips.

5. Spray the cooking rack with vegetable cooking spray.

6. Place your food to be smoked on the cooking rack.

7. Place the smoker over a burner, or over two burners on your stove.

8. Close the lid about 2/3 of the way until you see signs of smoke, then close the lid fully and secure it.

9. Test the food for doneness with an instant-read thermometer.

10. Serve and enjoy!
