Athens, GA, is famous for being the home of the B-52's singing group, the University of Georgia, and music group R.E.M. Athens is a city approximately an hour and a half east of Atlanta. The area hosts many music and arts festivals throughout the year, offers cultural attractions, plenty of hotel choices and many dining choices. Many of Athens restaurants use sustainable fare.
