Hawaiian wine lovers can take advantage of several wine clubs located throughout the islands. Honolulu is home to frequent wine-related events hosted by clubs and local wine shops, and students and alumni of the University of Hawaii at Manoa can join the University's unofficial wine club, the Wine Toasters. Maui also boasts its own winery, Tedeschi Vineyards.
HASR Wine
In downtown Honolulu, HASR Wine hosts a wine lovers' club and has regular wine tastings on Tuesday and Friday evenings beginning at 5 p.m. HASR also posts other events, open to club members and the general public, on its website, including tastings of new wines and champagnes.
The Wine Stop
Also located in Honolulu, The Wine Stop sponsors a wine club. Memberships are available at several levels, and all include two bottles of wine a month delivered to your home, pairing information about the wines and discounts at the shop. The Wine Stop also offers a beer club.
Wrath of Grapes
The Honolulu-based Wrath of Grapes club meets every Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Indigo restaurant in Chinatown for wine tastings hosted by local wine vendors and traveling makers. Reservations are required and taken by phone only (Resources). Wines tasted are from all over the world, ranging from Maui-made to Rieslings from Germany.
Wine Toasters
The University of Hawaii at Manoa's Wine Toasters is a club for students (over 21) and alumni of the university. According to the group's website, "the club has been successful in recruiting over 50 members, hosting events every other week and bottling a barrel of wine." The Wine Toasters meet primarily during the academic year.
