It's your birthday and what better way to celebrate than with a rock n' roll legend? Elvis Presley has such worldwide fame, it's easy to incorporate a few of his over-the-top characteristics into your party motif and plan an evening guests of all ages will love.
Music
You can't have an Elvis-themed party without paying special attention to the music. Of course, plenty of the King is in order, but don't be afraid to mix it up a bit. Many famous artists have covered famous Elvis songs and would be fun to pepper into the party soundtrack. Setting up a karaoke station would also be a crowd-pleaser, and because Elvis is popular with everyone, your entire party can have a great time singing along.
Decor
As the king of rock n' roll, Elvis was know for going way over the top. Add a little of his flair to your fiesta by hanging LPs from the ceiling at different lengths. You can pick these up for pennies at garage sales and thrift stores. Mix the records in with white balloons, and to give it even more Elvis pizazz, cover the latex with sparkly silver glitter as an homage to his famous white jumpsuit.
Food
Peanut butter and banana sandwiches anyone? Add depth to your theme by including some of the kings more notable food favorites. From bacon and mayo sandwiches to milkshakes and BBQ pizza, there's bound to be something for everyone. Set up the table buffet style to echo his Vegas career and sprinkle the top with song lyrics you can easily print and cut out.
