Design Your Own Volleyball Shoes

Whether choosing court shoes for your volleyball team or simply selecting a pair for yourself, designing your own shoe is a way to show school spirit or stand out in the crowd. With online resources, it is a simple process to design your own shoe with style, color and even images. While personalized shoes might not help you dominate the court, you will be in style.

Instructions

1. Determine which brand of shoe is right for your team. Brands such as Nike and Keds have design options for a variety of shoe styles. Visit Nike.com or Zazzle.com to research which fit and style are best for your volleyball pursuits.

2. Select the Customize option to begin designing your unique shoe. First, pick a base color. With Keds, each element -- including heel, insole and tongue -- can be a different color. As for Nike, various color combinations can be chosen for the overall theme of the shoe. If your school colors are maroon and gold, select a shoe with a maroon body and gold or yellow accents.

3. Choose the design details. Options such as lace, stitching, binding or brand symbol color can be selected. Again, choose colors that best accent your base color or school colors. Try not to overwhelm the shoe with a mash-up of tie-dye. Keep it simple yet unique.

4. Add an image or text to your shoe. When designing shoes on Zazzle.com you may select a photo you have taken or find clip art online. Other ideas might include a photo of a volleyball or a team picture. Upload the photo onto the website and use the cropping feature to adjust the image to your preference. Choose to add text using the same feature as well.

5. Add your shoe or shoes to a checkout cart online. In this area select how many shoes you would like to purchase and the size of each pair. Be sure to have accurate measurements when buying for a team. You may also want to contact the company or website regarding team deals. Often when buying shoes in bulk, you can get an overall discount on the price.

Tips Warnings

Keep your purchase receipt for return purposes, especially when purchasing court shoes for a large number of people. However, customized products often are non-returnable.

Also research matching volleyball socks and knee pads for your team.
