Wrap Brie In Phyllo

Wrap Brie cheese in phyllo to create an appetizer that your guests will enjoy.

Phyllo translates to leaf in Greek. Phyllo dough is stretched and rolled into thin sheets until it looks paper thin. Supermarkets often sell the dough frozen. When you wrap Brie cheese in the phyllo, it gives it a crisp texture and buttery flavor. The dough also helps to keep the Brie cheese warm and it makes the melted cheese look presentable. You can serve fresh fruit like grapes and apples with the baked Brie for an elegant appetizer.

Instructions

1. Spread one sheet of thawed phyllo dough on a flat and clean surface.

2. Brush the phyllo with melted butter.

3. Place another sheet of phyllo on top of the first sheet and brush it with melted butter.

4. Place a third sheet of phyllo on the second sheet. Brush this sheet with melted butter.

5. Spread 2 tablespoons of Dijon mustard over both sides of the Brie cheese.

6. Place the Brie cheese on the center of the phyllo. Wrap it around the Brie cheese to create a package. Pinch the phyllo tightly to create a seal and then brush with more melted butter.

7. Bake the phyllo-wrapped Brie in a pie pan in the oven for 15 to 20 minutes until it appears golden brown. Allow it to cool for 15 minutes before you cut it.
